Sadly, accidents do happen. As well as being shaken up, you’re left trying to deal with the aftermath. From dealing with insurance companies to trying to navigate everyday life while your vehicle is being repaired, it can get very stressful.
At WCarey Motor Engineers, our accident repair centre removes as much stress as possible for our customers. If the damage isn’t your fault, we can liaise with the insurer to manage the recovery of the repair costs and associated losses.

No appointments are necessary and if you need it, we will even carry out an estimate for you whilst you wait.
Our care repair services include:
- Recovery of your vehicle
- Direct liaison with your insurer
- Supply of a like-for-like courtesy vehicle (manual or automatic)
- Delivery of your vehicle once the work is complete
- Choice of parts: OEM (original equipment manufacturer) or replacement with the highest level of service
Non fault claim
We’ll manage the whole process for you with our Accident Concierge Service.
- We collect your car for assessment and store it until repairs are authorised
- Courtesy car can be provided
- We’ll provide quotes for repairs and liaise with your insurance company
- When your vehicle is repaired, we’ll deliver it and arrange for the hire car to be collected
Your fault claim
Even if the accident was your fault, we can still provide a courtesy car (subject to availability) and deal with your insurance company directly if you wish.
Hybrid car accident?
We have great experience in repairing hybrid and electric vehicles.
For most repairs, the battery must be powered down before work can begin and powered up at completion. This can take up to an hour in total. In some cases, the battery must be removed, and reinstalled at the end of the job. At W. Carey’s we have all the diagnostic equipment required to carry out this procedure.
To work safely with high-voltage battery, recovery agents and repairers must have the correct training and equipment. The risks involved in working with electricity means AFVs can’t simply be treated in the same way as a normal vehicle.
The high voltage batteries cannot come into close contact with heat. This means they often need longer in the paint oven on lower temperatures and fast curing methods, such as infra-red are not suitable from some AFV repairs. The batteries also present a significant health and safety risk and there are additional requirements within the repair process.
The situation becomes significantly more complex and dangerous following a serious collision where the high voltage battery has been damaged. In this case, there is a strong risk of fire, and specialist training and equipment are needed to safely handle the situation.
